Merck Staff Training

ESF began its association with Merck in 1994 in West Point, PA. Beginning in 1994, ESF trained Merck's staff in the IDLS process to develop training modules at many of their sites including West Point, PA, Whitehouse Station, NJ, Elkton, VA, Wilson, NC, and Rahway, NJ.

ESF has provided Merck's trainers and developers with training in the following ESF course:

• Instructional Development Learning System (IDLS): How to design, develop, and validate instructional materials

Using TaskOutliner to Generate Performance Checklists

In 1998, ESF developed Merck's Fluid Manufacturing Program Task Analyses by:

• Reviewing the Client's documentation
• Getting feedback from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
• Videotaping West Point's new department 110 Fluid Manufacturing operation.

The Task Analyses were converted into Performance Checklists for the Fluid Manufacturing operators.

ESF certified Merck trainers to conduct the IDLS-ProTrainer 1 Workshop.

ESF or a Merck certified Instructor conducted ESF's IDLS-ProTrainer 1 Workshop at Merck US sites including the following locations:

• West Point, PA
• Whitehouse Station, PA
• Kennilworth, NJ
• Linden, NJ
• Rahway, NJ
• Elkton, VA
• Wilson, NC

Trained to Use the IDLS-ProTrainer 1 Processes

In 1998, ESF developed Merck's Sampling Raw Material Task Analyses, self=paced, self-instructional interactive Workbooks, Instructor Guides including presentation slides, and hands-on skills lab for the Rahway division.

ESF also conducted an on-site validation (field test) for the Sampling module.
