Largest Genealogy Organization in the World

Founded in 1894, the Church of the Latter Day Saints Genealogical Society, now called FamilySearch, according to their website, is: "the largest genealogy organization in the world."

The Family History Library, located in Salt Lake City, Utah, provides a repository of ancestral records searched through by millions of people who use the FamilySearch records, resources, and services to learn more about their family history.

Originally established to provide members of their church a way to research their ancestry, this Genealogical Society, FamilySearch, has continued to gather, preserve, and share genealogical records worldwide. Patrons may freely access their resources and service online at FamilySearch.org, or through over 4,500 family history centers in 70 countries.

In 1977, ESF conducted an IDLS-ProTrainer 1 Workshop on how to design, develop, and validate instructional materials for staff members of the Genealogical Society of the Church of the Latter Day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah.

ESF Development Project: Principles of Management

The National Apartment Association (NAA), located in Washington, DC, is America's leading advocate for quality rental housing. NAA's mission is to serve the interests of multifamily housing owners, managers, developers and suppliers and maintain a high level of professionalism in the multifamily housing industry to better serve the rental housing needs of the public.

The National Apartment Association Education Institute (NAAEI) is the education and research arm of the National Apartment Association. The mission of the NAAEI is to provide broad-based education, training and recruitment programs that attract, nurture and retain high-quality professionals and develop tomorrow's apartment industry leaders.

Using its proven IDLS-ProTrainer 1 Process, ESF designed, developed, and validated a series of self-instructional programs to train the National Apartment Association's apartment managers in the principles of management.

ESF Creates User's Guide for On-Line Users

Public Broadcasting System (PBS), with its 356 member stations, offers all Americans from every walk of life the opportunity to explore new ideas and new worlds through television and online content. Each week, PBS reaches more than 65 million people and invites them to experience the worlds of science, history, nature and public affairs; hear diverse viewpoints; and take front row seats to world-class drama and performances.

PBS' broad array of programs has been consistently honored by the industry's most coveted award competitions.

In 1998, ESF applied its IDLS-ProTrainer 1 Process to design a Users' Guide for the Public Broadcasting System's (PBS) on-line users.

ESF Development Project: Mile High United Way
for Key Workers and Chairpersons

The Mile High United Way coordinates more than 50,000 individual donors, 800 local businesses, 100 nonprofit organizations, and numerous community resources. Together, they deliver long-term solutions for individuals and families in metro Denver, Colorado empowering them to become more productive members of the community for years to come.

It was customary for all the businesses in the Denver area to donate both money and personnel to work on the United Way campaign each year. Although Mountain Bell gladly cooperated in the past, in 1985 the training program was understaffed for even their normal functions. Therefore, the Training Center requested ESF to create a training program for the United Way.

ESF applied its IDLS-Protrainer 1 Process to design, develop, and validate two series of training programs for use by volunteer Key Workers and Chairpersons who, as employees in corporations, institutions, and organizations, solicit United Way funds from their fellow employees.
